The setup is finally complete.

Firstly, many apologies. It has been far too long since my last post (15th May for those keeping track) although in my defence, I do have a good/decent/okay reason. In between and around life and work (and often times during) I finally managed to navigate the minefield that is property buying and eventually completed this arduous and tedious process to be in the legal possession of my very first home. Yes I know, I can't believe it either...

As is the propensity with me around this time of year, I've gone and got myself a new smartphone. This year's edition of 'What's in John's pocket?' is the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Read on to find out my initial thoughts of Samsung's 2016 flagship smartphone.

The mother-trip of all mother-trips had to be paired with the best gear I could afford. Good thing Sony announced the a6300 six weeks before I was due to travel with its newly developed 24MP APS-C sensor, super-fast autofocus and 4K internal recording. Take my money Sony. Take my money.
Take a gander at some of my photos of one of the most beautiful places on Earth and be the judge of Sony's latest £1000 machine.

This must have been one of the most leaked smartphone launches in the history of smartphone launches with sketchy rumours and blurry photos percolating since before Christmas. (I wonder if Samsung slowly leaks this stuff on purpose to build up interest and steam ahead of its launch.)
Anyway, now that the launch is official, here's what you need to know about Samsung's newest and best challengers for 2016.

It's still winter which means it's still grey and cold and dreary (if it were spring, I'm confident it would still be grey and cold and dreary). Time to co-ordinate with the season as this lookbook centres around these grey smart jogger trousers from River Island. Read on to see what I pair them with for a warm and comfortable yet smart look befitting of this winter weather.

I remember growing up, shopping at Warehouse and TK Maxx and thinking that I knew what I was doing: I didn't need to use the changing rooms because I knew the clothes would fit; I wouldn't take my sister for a second opinion because I was so confident in what looked good. Gosh, I cringe looking back on those days of clearly-too-large short sleeve shirts and faux retro-American prints. Thankfully, I've become somewhat better at determining what 'works' and what 'doesn't' although of course I'm still prone to my share of 'what was I thinking?!' moments.
Anyway, here are my top 3 places when shopping for a new look, considering their style, price and quality.
